Davis Monthan Air Force Base is located in the south and southeast portions of Tucson.  Military members live everywhere in Tucson, however, I have noticed that there are some areas that attract military members more than others.  In fact, my husband and I jokingly refer to certain areas as "Davis Monthan Off-base housing". 

One of these areas is the community of Rita Ranch.  Rita Ranch has homes ranging in the low $100,000 to the mid $200,000s.  Lot sizes vary from .01 acre to close to 1 acre.  The community has many amenities available such as grocery stores, banks, restaurants, a hardware store (and a Home Depot coming soon), parks and hiking/mountain trails for recreation, and medical offices.  Rita Ranch is only about a 20-25 minute drive to Davis Monthan AFB.

Another popular community for Davis Monthan service members is Rancho Sahuarita located in the city of Sahuarita.   Sahuarita is considered to be in the extended southern area of Tucson.  Just off I-19, this community is very family oriented as it has a small lake, a water park, a fitness center, miles of running and bike paths, several parks, grocery stores, banks, restaurants...everything you need!  Homes range in the low $100,000 to the mid $300,000 and the drive time to Davis Monthan AFB is only about 20-25 minutes.
